"What's right isn't always popular. What's popular isn't always right."

Image result for Albert Einstein

-Albert Einstein

Reflection: I agree with the statement above because most people don't really think about whether something is popular or not, they just do it. One of the most popular things people do without thinking about the consequences is drinking. Although drinking isn't right a lot of people do it because of others influencing them. On the other hand, one thing that is right but many people don't do is helping people in need. More people should donate food and clothes to the homeless community.

A Choice: Poverty or Prosperity

" I hated poverty. Poverty is more of a choice than anything else, and I can change that (poverty). It depends upon upon how hard I want to work, and I decided that I would change it."

- Dr. Ben Carson

Reflection: I agree with the quote above because you are what determines your future. Although you might have bad influences in your life, you don't have to follow in their footsteps. For example, if you don't like something in school or your job, you have the ability to change it by speaking up. I believe Mr. Carson's story is truly remarkable because he really did not have opportunities in his city or any money, however, he decided to work hard and create a name for himself. Now he is a world renowned surgeon and has run for presidency.

FLU EPIDEMIC

Flu Epidemic

1) An issue that is sweeping the nation right now is the flu epidemic. It is infecting  millions of people and killing hundreds of thousands of people.

2) Right now an estimated 3 to 5 million people have the flu. The flu has taken more than half a million deaths this season.

3) I believe everyone is involved in this issue because everyone is prone to getting it from others.

4) I think the major thing that is being done is flu shots.

5) Picture:

6) This issue relates to me because I have gotten sick from the flu, this year already. When I got infected I got a fever and nausea.

"Even if everyone is doing it, WRONG IS NEVER RIGHT."

-Russell M. Nelson

Reflection: I believe that this statement is absolutely correct because something that is wrong will never turn right. There are many examples of the quote above. For instance, if a class of students is about to start taking an exam, however, the teacher steps out to quickly use the restroom. Everyone in the room should be quiet and start the exam, but there are some students who will unfortunately take advantage and cheat. Those students could use their electronics to cheat or they may start to ask their peers around them.

"I wasn't trying to leave a legacy. I was trying to do what was right."

-Dean Smith

I like how Dean Smith thought because his intent was never to beat the other team, he always told his players to go on the court and to try their very best. I believe that he had a great mind set because losing didn't bother him. In today's world I think more people should focus on the positive things, just like Dean Walter. Because he was simply doing the right thing, he created a legacy.

KARMA

Karma Will Take Of Itself

"It's not about how to achieve your dreams. It's about how to lead your life. If you lead your life the RIGHT WAY, the karma (good results, destiny, fortune, good luck) will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you."

-Dr. Randy Pausch

WINTER BREAK

Winter Break

During winter break I really didn't do anything except eat during the holidays and watch Netflix. Two weeks ago I started a new series on Netflix called Skins, I'm currently on the fifth season. The show follows a group of British teen friends that rebel. I also watched a movie called Bright. The movie was about a world where people, orcs, and elf's all lived together. The whole movie revolved around a magic wand that was able to grand the owner three wishes. Later, on the twenty-second of December my grandparents arrived from Mexico. They are currently staying at our house right now. Then on Christmas my mom made food. The following day we headed to my uncles and we spent the day there. That same week I unfortunately got food poisoning and I spent the whole night vomiting. Because I wasn't feeling well at all, the next day my parents took me to the hospital. At the hospital they told me I had an infection and gave me a thick substance which was to help my stomach. :I
